SNAP-UP1-ADS (UltimateIO)
The Opto22 SNAP-UP1-ADS UltimateIO Controller provides I/O management, control logic, data collection and
transfer, HMI interfacing, and Ethernet communications. The controller is integrated into the I/O rack thereby allowing
reduced footprints, fewer hardware components, and easier setup. It can act as a stand alone system, be the master
controller for other I/O units, or be an intelligent component of a larger system.
Communications. A variety of communications options provide great flexibility. The Ethernet based communication
allows connection of the Controller to existing Ethernet networks, other SNAP Ethernet components, or direct to a PC.
Alternatively, communication can be by modem using Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) or serial RS-232. Options are
available for establishing wireless Ethernet connections. Supported communications protocols include TCP/IP,
SNMP, SMTP, FTP, ModBus/TCP, OPC, IEEE 1394 based memory map, and others.
I/O. The UltimateIO controller attaches to Opto22 B-series racks which come in 4, 8, 12, or 16 position versions.
Each position holds one module which, depending on module type, may support 2-4 channels (points) of I/O. Analog
and serial modules can be placed in any position on the rack while digital modules may be placed in any of the first
eight positions.
