SNAP-PAC-S1
The Opto22 SNAP-PAC controllers provide master control logic for multiple SNAP Ethernet I/O units, centralized data
collection and transfer, HMI interfacing, and Ethernet communications. The S-Series is a stand alone unit while the
R-Series is rack mounted. Both run the PACProject family of software (PACControl, PACDisplay, etc.).
Dual Ethernet Ports. The controller features dual, independent Ethernet ports with separate IP addresses. This
allows redundant network links to enhance availability and reliability of I/O systems. Alternatively, the dual ports can
be used to segment the control system's network from the Enterprise network.
Legacy Connectivity. An RS-485 port is provided for connecting to legacy Mistic units such as the B3000 serial brain
and remote Mistic bricks. This is an easy way to integrate older equipment into an Ethernet network.
Communications. A variety of communications options provide great flexibility. In addition to the dual Ethernet ports
and RS-485 port, two RS-232 ports are provided for direct serial device communication or PPP modem usage.
Supported protocols include Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP - modem), TCP/IP, SNMP, SMTP, FTP, ModBus/TCP, OPC,
IEEE 1394 based memory map, and others. Wireless Ethernet can be easily implemented.
